%X Gini coefficient is used to compare the degree of equalities in incomes depending on time and countries (regions). Although it is a global measure, Gini coefficient is not periodically calculated in Turkey. Until the study had been finished, Gini coefficient for Turkey for the year 2006 hasn¡¯t been announced by Turkish Statistical Institute. The aim of this study is to propose a new model in calculating the Gini. For that, the most Gini calculated years, 1992, 1996 and 2000, are investigated. The proposed model is applied for the year 2006.
