Sialolithiasis in the proximal ductus of the parotid gland: A case reportKeywords: Key words: Sialolithiasis , parotid gland , salivary Gland Abstract: Sialolithiasis is characterized by the obstruction of salivarygland or its excretory duct by a calculus. Swelling,pain, and infection are seen in the affected gland. Mostcommon seen in submandibular gland, parotid gland,sublingual gland and minor salivary glands, respectively.Treatment is in a wide range from medical treatment tototal excision of the gland. In this case, we reported apatient that have a previously failed surgical treatment forparotid calculi. Superficial parotidectomy was performed.We found the calculi in the proximal ductus of the parotidgland. There was no problem in postoperative follow-upperiod.Key words: Sialolithiasis, parotid gland, salivary Gland
