Sweet almond oil is a great emollient forsoftening and conditioning the skin.It is a rich sorce of antioxidants A rapid and simple highperformance thin layer chromatographic method is developed for the qualitative finger printingstandardization of marketed herbal cream containing almond oil extracted from almonds (Prunusamygdalus var. dulcus). The separation was achieved by using Benzene: Methanol (7.5:1.5 v/v) asmobile phase and aluminium backed silica coated TLC plates F254 as stationary phase; the developedplates were dried at 60oC after development. The separated bands on TLC plates were scanned over thewavelength of 560nm using tungsten as a lamp and in absorbance/reflectance mode after derivatizationwith fresh anisaldehyde sulfuric acid reagent dry the plates at 120.
