Dans leurs récits, Amadou Hampaté Ba (1900-1991) et Ahmadou Kourouma (1927-2003) proposent deux types de rapports bien distincts entre les figures de l’auteur-créateur et du traducteur, dont la comparaison révèle certaines des mutations qui affectent le champ littéraire de langue fran aise à partir des années 1970. Alors que le premier se présente comme le traducteur de textes oraux préexistants et insiste sur son r le d’interprète permettant à deux univers radicalement distincts de mieux se conna tre, le second cherche à créer des identités linguistiques plus complexes. La confrontation de ces deux modèles est inséparable de l’émergence du moment postcolonial. This article studies the relationship between two literary figures (the author-creator on the one hand and the translator on the other) in Amadou Hampaté Ba’s and Ahmadou Kourouma’s narratives. The comparison between these two writers reveals some of the transformations the French and Francophone literary field has undergone since the 1970s. While Hampaté Ba (1900-1991) saw himself both as the translator of pre-existing oral texts and as an interpreter helping two radically different cultural universes to get to know each other, Kourouma (1927-2003) tried to create more complex linguistic identities. The confrontation of these two models is one of the consequences of the emergence of the postcolonial moment.
