Drogas y novelas policíacas: el género negro como vehículo de articulación de una problemática social / Illegal drugs and the detective novel: the noir genre as vehicle for articulating a social issue

RESUMEN: La novela policíaca espa ola reciente utiliza el contexto socio-político alrededor de la investigación que narra preocupándose más por la problemática humana que por la resolución del caso per se. Desde el fin de la dictadura hasta el comienzo del siglo XXI numerosos escritores han retratado el impacto del consumo de drogas ilegales y el narcotráfico en Espa a. Este tipo de narrativa se dispone como un espacio para que implicados, víctimas e instituciones se pronuncien ante esta realidad y permite que se orqueste un discurso socialmente comprometido sobre la situación de estas sustancias. ABSTRACT: Recent Spanish detective novels have used the sociopolitical context surrounding the actual investigation narrated in the text in order to express a stronger concern about the issues in society than about the criminal case per se. Since the end of dictatorship until the beginning of twenty-first century, several authors have portrayed the impact of the consumption of and trafficking in illegal drugs in Spain. This kind of narrative lays a suitable ground for individuals, collectives and institutions involved with these substances to comment on this situation and to convey a socially committed discourse regarding this problem.
