Português Os indicadores sociais do Nordeste brasileiro mostram que, mesmo com a persistentedesigualdade social, houve redu o significativa da pobreza e melhorias na educa o e nomercado de trabalho. Assinalam também que por trás desses resultados est o o empregopúblico, as rendas de programas sociais e as aposentadorias. Esses elementos, na medida emque suavizaram os efeitos perversos da débil estrutura econ mica e da insustentável formade reparti o dos meios de produ o, também influenciam na migra o. O objetivo desteartigo é analisar a dinamica migratória sergipana, principalmente os fluxos direcionados àregi o da grande Aracaju (RGA), à luz de alguns aspectos próximos ou influentes na migra o.De forma mais específica, trata a migra o interna em Sergipe, tendo como cenários osavan os e os problemas regionais assentes no processo de desenvolvimento sergipano dasúltimas três décadas. Ao analisar comparativamente a ocupa o e a renda do trabalho segundostatus migratório e escolaridade, mostra que esses diferenciais em favor da RGA continuamsendo os principais atrativos dos migrantes originados do interior sergipano.English Social indicators in the brazilian Northeast show that, even with the persistent social inequality,there was significant poverty reduction and improvements in education and labor marketstandards. The indicators also highlight the fact that behind these results, public employment,transfers from social programs and pensions are found. These elements mitigate the perverseeffects from a feeble economic structure and from an unsustainable distribution of productionmeans. Therefore, they also influence migration. The objective of this article is to analyze themigratory dynamic at the state of Sergipe, particularly the population flows directed tometropolitan Aracaju. Specifically, this article addresses the inner migration at Sergipe through the sceneries of regional advances and problems – present in the state’s development processfor the last three decades.
