"La gramática: investigación y ense anza en la obra de Ofelia Kovacci" ["Grammar: Research and teaching in the work of Ofelia Kovacci"]

This paper seeks to survey and analyse the linguistic concepts in the work of Ofelia Kovacci (1927-2001). First of all, a summary of her basic grammar concepts and specific aspects of her explorations into the grammar of Spanish is presented. Then, a brief description of her work on norm and speech is included, alongside her main ideas on the tensions between tradition and innovation, language unity and diversity. The final section is a review of some of the texts that illustrate Kovacci’s work on language learning and the teaching of grammar. The section ends with an analysis of Propuesta acerca de los Contenidos Básicos Comunes: Lengua (1996), a text that is quite unknown among Kovacci’s works.
