Research on Wavelet Energy Entropy and Its Applicationto Harmonic Detection in Power System

Aiming at the problem that FFT can’t detect thetransient signal, and wavelet analysis is easy to produce energyleakage and frequency aliasing in power harmonic detection,the paper gives a new algorithm which combined wavelet withinformation entropy in order to design a new function that iswavelet energy entropy, it is used to extract informations oftransient signal effectively in power system. According to theharmonic characters in power system, a mathematic model isdone based on it. The simulation results in Matlab indicate thatthe new algorithm is validated in transient signal detection
