%X Aiming at the problem that FFT can¡¯t detect thetransient signal, and wavelet analysis is easy to produce energyleakage and frequency aliasing in power harmonic detection,the paper gives a new algorithm which combined wavelet withinformation entropy in order to design a new function that iswavelet energy entropy, it is used to extract informations oftransient signal effectively in power system. According to theharmonic characters in power system, a mathematic model isdone based on it. The simulation results in Matlab indicate thatthe new algorithm is validated in transient signal detection
