Spice – dopalacze” zawieraj ce syntetyczne kannabinoidy

In the last few years there has been a dramatic increasein the sale of a new category of psychoactive compounds,colloquially called “herbal highs”, “legal highs”, or“designer drugs”, which commonly display similarchemical structure and pharmacological activity toexisting and illegal drugs of abuse. Among variousproducts of this kind are so-called “spice” – herbalmixtures containing synthetic cannabinoids that bind tocannabinoid receptors and exert more powerful effectsthan natural cannabis. This review surveys the currentstate of knowledge on synthetic cannabinoids present in“spice”, their pharmacological properties and analyticalmethods used for their identification. It also addressesthe negative consequences of using these products.
