It presents the findings of the research conducted by the Public Committee against Torture in Israel (PCATI) after hundreds of complaints submitted during the last five years against Israel’s General Security Service, widely known as Shin Bet and emphasizes the absence of punishment for the alleged crimes of the persons accused of torture. Finally, it demonstrates the consensus –if not encouragement – of Israel law enforcement authorities over the tortures committed in the interrogation rooms of Shin Bet.
