Projet franco-lituanien de communication par Skype Franco-Lithuanian Skype communication project

Ce projet, fondé sur la fonction communicative de la langue enseignée, a permis d’établir un dialogue en anglais pendant trois sessions d’une heure entre un groupe d’étudiants lituaniens se trouvant à l’Université Vytautas Magnus à Kaunas (Lituanie) et un groupe d’étudiants fran ais à l’IUT de Quimper. La communication en fran ais ou en lituanien étant quasiment impossible, du fait que chacune de ces deux langues était inconnue des interlocuteurs respectifs, l’anglais se trouvait être le moyen de communication le plus commode. L’article explicite trois aspects du projet : les étapes de son élaboration, les modalités de son fonctionnement, et les résultats obtenus. La conclusion traite de son éventuelle application à d’autres langues et à d’autres domaines de spécialisation. This project, based on the communicative approach used in the teaching of English to French students, set up a dialogue in English for three one-hour sessions between a group of Lithuanian students at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania, and a group of French students at the IUT de Quimper. Communication in French or Lithuanian being nearly impossible, because of the fact that each one of these two languages was unknown to their respective interlocutors, English was the most convenient means of communication. The article covers three aspects of the project : its elaboration in three stages, its modes of functioning, and the results obtained. The conclusion discusses its possible application to other languages and domains of specialization.
