Qualitative and quantitative characteristics of roach (Rutilus rutilus caspicus Jakowlew, 1870) from anglers' catches in the Volga river delta in 2011

Qualitative and quantitative characteristics of roach from catches of anglers in the Volga River delta during spring and autumn are evaluated; the volume of total harvest of recreational fishery is deter-mined. The presented materials have indicated quite a significant anthropogenic impact of recreational fishery on roach stock while the roach population is in depression. A total of 835.0 tons of roach was taken by recreational fishery in 2011, that is 35.6 % of the total allowable catch.
