Women online: Characteristics of a “beauty salon talk” in the blog M o FeitaKeywords: blogs , female blogs , Computer-Mediated Communication. Abstract: This paper aims to show some characteristicsof female blogs based on the blog M o Feita,a website about nail polish, written by womenand created in 2008. Some concepts and characteristicsof Computer-Mediated Communicationand blogs are discussed in this article and theyare the foundation of this analysis. It is possibleto characterize the object as a Mixed Publication(Recuero, 2003) and as a fashion blog (Hinerasky,2010) with commercial purpose and evidencesthat indicate professionalism. The article analyzesthe interaction between bloggers and readers,the relationship of support and empathy amongusers and other characteristics of the blog M oFeita may represent the female discourse in theInternet. Some female issues are also discussed:discursive fragments suggest the demarcation ofa feminine place in this blog, where a “beauty salontalk” happens.
