BURNOUT SYNDROME IN A GRUP OF AUXILIARY NURSES: AN EXPLORATORY STUDY

The objective of the present research was to study the relationship among the Burnout Syndrome, the index ofperception of laboral stress, abilities to face stress and social support perception in a patterns of nurses auxiliarybelongs to a private clinic in Medellin city. This sample was constituted by 60participants of female sex, whose agesshifting between 20 and 40 years; for this purpose was necessary to apply the following tests: the shot version of theinventory of Maslach about labour weariness, the index of perception of laboral stress, the inventory aboutabilities to face stress and a scale for social support. In order to analyze the data, descriptive statistics and theSpearmans coefficient correlation were used, which accepted statistics meaning levels of p< 0.01 and p< 0.05. Ingeneral terms, the results obtained point out a low presence rate of Burnout Syndrome in this sample.Keywords: Burnout syndrome. Laboral stress, coping abilities and social support.
