Candida arthritis in acute myeloid leukaemia patient treated with decitabine - case report

Invasive fungal infections (IFI) constitute a serious complication in a patient with hematologic malignancies, especially in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients. Predisposing factors for fungal infections are immunosuppression, neutropenia, surgical interventions or intra-articular injections. Fungal arthritis is a rare manifestation of IFI. We present a case of a 75-year-old AML patient, who developed candida arthritis in course of decitabine treatment.
