L’image de la pensée. L’image, la minute la plus orgueilleuse de l’histoire universelle

A partir d’un fragment de Nietzsche, cet article sur l’image de la pensée (la paternité du syntagme image de la pensée est d’habitude attribuée à Walter Benjamin) interroge les valences linguistiques et philosophiques du terme allemand Bild, qui est parfois inexactement traduit par l’imago latin. Entre la force d’imaginer , la représentation et le moment le plus orgueilleux de l’histoire humaine , l’image de la pensée devient l’axe de toute réflexion sur la temporalité et la chronologie. Elle ne représente pas une sous-catégorie de l’image en un sens général ou une énonciation philosophique ayant au centre l’idée du spectacle, mais une réalité linguistique qui traverse comme un spectre les domaines de la connaissance humaine. Using a fragment of Nietzsche as a starting point, this article studies the notion of the “image of thought” (a phrase originally coined by Walter Benjamin), and questions the linguistic and philosophical implications of the German word "Bild", which is sometimes wrongly equated with the Latin "imago". From the "power of imagination", "representation" and "the most arrogant mont in human history", the image of of thought is here the focus of all reflection on time and chronology. It is not a subcategory of the image in the general sense ot a philosophical statement based on the idea of show, but a linguistic reality wich cuts through (like a ghost) various realms of human knowledge. A partir de un fragmento de Nietzsche, este ensayo sobre la imagen del pensamiento (la paternidad de dicho sintagma, “imagen del pensamiento”, se suele atribuir a Walter Benjamín), cuestiona las valencias lingüísticas y filosóficas del termino alemán Bild, cuya traducción incorrecta se suele hacer con la palabra latina imago. Entre la “capacidad de imaginar”, la “representación” y “el instante más orgulloso de la historia humana”, la imagen del pensamiento se convierte en el eje de toda reflexión sobre la temporalidad y la cronología. Esta no equivale justamente a una subcategoría de la imagen tomada en un sentido general, o a una enunciación filosófica en cuyo centro se encuentra la idea del espectáculo, sino a una realidad lingüística que atraviesa como un espectro las áreas del conocimiento humano.
