Infestación del cabello por Phthirus pubis (Anoplura: Pediculidae)

Se reportó un caso de parasitación del cabello por piojos en un joven de 24 a os, la identificación entomológica de los adultos y estadios inmaduros del vector, confirmaron la presencia de Phthirus pubis Linnaeus, 1758, como único parásito existente. Este insecto hematófago usualmente infesta la región del pubis, axilas, pesta as y otras partes del cuerpo, pero no es habitual encontrarlo en la cabeza. A case of lice infestation of the hair in a 24 years-old man was reported. After the entomological identification of adults and immature stages of the vector; it was confirmed that the only existing parasite was Phtihirus pubis Linnaeus 1758, a hematophagous insect that usually infests pubis, armpit, eyelids, and other parts of the body but is rarely found in the head.
