Frontline Soldiers’ Private Lives: Correspondence with Wives during the Great Patriotic War

New outlook on the history of war is closely connected with the return of “the human perspective” to it, consequently with the study of private culture, everyday life of a Soviet man in wartime. Solving of such problems chiefly depends on the involvement and analysis of epistolary sources. The article studies the character and content of frontline soldiers’ correspondence with wives, draws a conclusion, concerning major problems of their relations in wartime.
