DE ATLAS A TIO SAM: IMAGENS (E VOZES) QUE SE REPETEM SEM SE REPETIRKeywords: discourse , interdiscourse , memory , “dialogism” , image. Abstract: This article aims at investigating what other “voices” also speak in the discourse transmitted through the presence of an iconic image of American culture and a headline on the cover of a traditional American magazine. In the light of the French school of discourse analysis, also based on Bakhtin’s notion of “dialogism”, this is an attempt to demonstrate the heterogeneous nature of every text, may it be verbal or non-verbal.
