This article aims to think cinema as a game. Mainly taking the theories of Johan Huizinga as references, we look for possible analogies between the concept of games and Eduardo Coutinho’s pictures and frame of mind. In this context, the director is also perceived as a player who throughout his singular cinematographic practice presents a body of work structured according to the ludic characteristics of games.
