Essay , Analysis Abstract: The article is based on the theory of potential of school self-evaluation processes for school quality development. It follows the idea that implementation of external element into internal evaluation contributes to its effectiveness. It informs of possibilities linked with the concept of benchmarking in schooling. In the empirical part,the article introduces conclusions ofanalysis ofpub-lished school educational programmes,school annual reports from three regions and 20 essays of school leaders. It thus provides an insight into the reality of Czech school in this respect.P íspěvek vychází z teoretickych poznatk o p ínosu autoevalua ních proces pro rozvoj kvality koly.
