Guía para la traducción jurada de documentos de registro civil (nacimiento y defunción) del inglés al espa ol

En este trabajo se aborda, desde un punto de vista principalmente práctio, la traducción jurada de documentos de registro civil relativos a nacimientos y defunciones que han sido redactados en inglés. Para ello se han estudiado más de un centenar de casos reales procedentes en su mayoría de Inglaterra, Escocia, los Estados Unidos de América y países de la Commonwealth y se ha a adido un glosario inglés-espa ol de términos específicos de estos documentos y muestras de los ejemplos más representativos de este tipo de documentos. Tampoco se ha eludido en este estudio la mención de los problemas de trascendencia teórica suscitados por la traducción de esos documentos. ---------------------------------------- A guide to translating vital records (birth and death certificates) from English to Spanish. This article deals mainly with practical issues in sworn translation of English-language documents that officially register birth and deaths. For this discussion, we have studied more than one hundred real cases primarily from England, Scotland, the United States of America and countries in the Commonwealth of Nations. We have also appended an English-Spanish glossary of terms specific to these documents and samples of the most representative examples of this type of documents. Our study does not neglect to mention problems of theoretical significance that are raised when translating vital records.
