Se debe usar el término accidente en el ámbito de la investigación científica?

El uso del término accidente está muy extendido tanto en la lengua corriente como en el ámbito de la investigación científica. Sin embargo, se han planteado serias objeciones a su uso. La connotación de imprevisibilidad y aleatoriedad implícita en el término ha llevado a muchos profesionales de la salud pública a evitar su uso. Este trabajo pretende recoger el debate generado en el ámbito de la investigación y de la literatura científica, así como presentar alternativas al uso de dicho vocablo. ------------------------------------------------- Should the term accident be used in scientific research?
