he preparation of chitosan-bonded and chitosan-coated HPLC packings and their applications to the sepa-ration of small peptides,proteins and sugars were reported in the paper.Under isocratic elution,the effectsof mobile phase parameters,such as,pH value and concentration of salts(NH _4)_2SO_4] on the elution of pro-teins were examined.The results showed that the chitosan-bonded pack ing gives a good resolution for thepeptides and both chitosan-silica packings exhibit a certain feature for protein retentions,but they have lessseparation ability for sugars.
