Purification of Superoxide Dismutase by High Performance Weak Anion Exchange Chromatography

e procedure of purifying superoxide dismutase was simplified using high performance weak anion ex-change chromatography.In only one chromatographic step following the acetone precipitation,Cu,Zn-super-oxide dismutase from bovine erythrocytes was purified to electrophoretic homogeneity wit h a recovery of86.4%. The specific activity of the enzyme preparation was 7711U/mg,and its purity was increased upto to52-fold.The conditions of chromatographic separation were also discussed in detail.
