Applications of Flow Cytometry in Higher Plant Research
|
Abstract:
Flow cytometry (FCM) is a current technique for sorting certain cell subset from various cellular associations based on differences in cell's physical and chemical properties, by which the selected cell subset could be further studied in function and morphology. The advantages of this technique include rapidity, sensitivity and synchronization of multi-parameter detection. The principles of FCM are briefly described, and its applications in plant cytoplast, protoplast and chromosome are reviewed.
