THE RELATION BETWEEN THE PARTITION AND THE MIXED FINITE ELEMENT METHOD FOR THE STOKES PROBLEM

In this paper, the mixed finite element method for the stokes equations is discussed andthe standard isoparametric Q_1×Q_0 scheme, Q_2×Q_1 scheme and P_2×P_1 scheme are proved to allsatisfy the Babuska-Brezzi condition if an appropriate partition of the domain is used.
