Volume Clipping Simulation Based on Clipping Distance Field

Abstract:
In order to clip volume data by interactive speed,we proposed the concept of Clipping Distance Field (CDF) and a CDF based clipping simulation algorithm.By combining volume rendering and clipping in the shader of GPU,the algorithm also achieved the high rendering/clipping speed required by interactive simulation.The result shows that the algorithm can process clipped data with different shape.
