The Study of Self-Location Algorithms in Ad Hoc Networks

Many protocols in Ad Hoc networks assume that the positions of nodes are known.But positioning in Ad Hoe networks can't depend on GPS in some special fields.So self-location is indispensable.The evaluation criterion of the performance and the taxonomy of self-location systems for Ad Hoc networks are described in this paper.The prin- ciples and characteristics of some typical algorithms are discussed,and the directions of self-location systems are also proposed.
