%X Many protocols in Ad Hoc networks assume that the positions of nodes are known.But positioning in Ad Hoe networks can't depend on GPS in some special fields.So self-location is indispensable.The evaluation criterion of the performance and the taxonomy of self-location systems for Ad Hoc networks are described in this paper.The prin- ciples and characteristics of some typical algorithms are discussed,and the directions of self-location systems are also proposed.
