PRELIMINARY STUDIES ON ARACHIDONIC ACID PRODUCTION OF MORTIERELLA
|
Abstract:
Mortierella sp. M10 was used to produce arachidonic acid. The effects of carbon source, glucose concentration, vegetable oil, etc. on the cell growth and arachidonic acid production were investigated. Glucose was the most effective carbon source for the production of arachidonic acid. Addition of corn oil, olive oil and soybean oil to the medium at the low concentration increased the accumulation of arachidonic acid. After fermentation in a 5L fermenter in the hasal medium containing 100g/L glucose and 2% olive oil, the production of arachidonic acid reached 0.95g/L.
