Honeycomb-like ceramic used for catalytic ozonation of acetophenone in water
|
Abstract:
The effect of honeycomb-like ceramic on the efficiency of ozonation of acetophenone in water was investigated. The results showed that the presence of honeycomb-like ceramic significantly improved the efficiency of ozonation of acetophenone, and that this catalytic ozonation system followed the mechanism of OH oxidation by a test of adding tert-butanol. The kinetics of honeycomb-like ceramic-catalytic ozonation of acetophenone could be divided into two stages. The values of apparent reaction rate constant and Rct were 8.77×10-4 s-1 and 10.34×10-10 for the first stage; and 4.63×10-3 s-1 and 172.34×10-10 for the second stage, respectively. Basing on the change of water color, analysis of sample by atomic absorption spectrometry, and the kinetic of degradation, we speculated that Ti4+ leaching from honeycomb-like ceramic was the main factor for the improvement of degradation rate of acetophenone.
