Properties of Cu2+ adsorption onto modified Potamogeton pectinatus L. in aqueous solution

Abstract:
Batch experiments were conducted to investigate the kinetics and equilibrium of Cu2+ adsorption onto modified pondweed Potamogeton pectinatus L biomass. The effects of initial pH value,adsorbent dosage and reaction temperature on Cu2+ adsorption were evaluated. The kinetics of Cu2+ adsorption onto modified P. pectinatus L. fit a pseudo-second-order equation well. The adsorption data fit the Langmuir isotherm model rather than the Freundlich isotherm.
