EFFECTS OF PHENOL ON SEEDLING GROWTH AND OXIDASE ISOZYMES OF VEGETABLES
|
Abstract:
The inhbitive effects on seeds germination and roots growth of three vegetables were observed after exposed to phenol solution of various concentrations. For Raphanus Sativa, only roots growth was affected by the treatment.Significant correlation was demonstrated between the inhibi-tive effects and the changes in peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase isozymes, which could be taken as index for resistance of the vegetables to phenol damage.
