Isolation and characterization of bacteria degrades 2,4 dischlorphenol
|
Abstract:
Two strains of pseudomonas sp. that can grow with 2,4 dichlorophenol as the sole source of carbon and energy were isolated from different cultures of soil bacterial populations that had been acclimatized to 2,4 dichlorophenol. On the basis of isolation, generic characterization was explored. Results from the study demonstrated:cells that were preincubated with 2,4 dichlorophenol converted 2,4 dichlorophenol to corresponding hydroquinone and released Cl -.The plasmid extracted from pseudomonas sp.strain DCP 1 was longer than pUC18 plasmid.
