Preparation of Ultrafine ZrO2 by the Air Plasma Oxidation-Thermal Decomposition Method
|
Abstract:
Ultrafine ZrO2 particles were prepared by the oxidation-thermal decomposition of Zr2O(CO3)xH2O and the spray-ICP technique of zirconium salt solution in an inductively coupled plasma. Their particle diameters ranged from 0.1~0.3 mm and 5~60 nm respectively. X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that the major phase is tetragonal and cubic ZrO2, the minor one is monoclinic ZrO2, the major is of metastable structures.
