Soliton-induced Real-time Planar Waveguide and Its Guiding Property in SBN:Cr Crystal
|
Abstract:
One-dimensional (1D) bright screening optical solitons and the guiding properties of their induced planar waveguides are studied numerically and experimentally in SBN:Cr crystals.By employing the split-step beam propagation method and Petviashvili iteration method,1D bright screening solitons are numerically simulated.By solving the guiding modes, the guiding properties of the soliton-induced planar waveguides are analyzed.Using a He-Ne laser at 633nm as a soliton beam and a diode-pumped solid-state laser at 532nm as a probe beam, experimental demonstrations are performed in a congruent SBN:Cr crystal. The experimental results coincide with the numerical ones. And it is shown that the waveguide structures induced by red soliton beams can be used as real-time waveguides.
