Study on the Optical Fiber Liquid-Level Sensor Based on Extrinsic Fabry-Perot Cavity
|
Abstract:
The structure and performance of the intensity-based optical fiber liquid-level sensor employing extrinsic Fabry-Perot cavity was introduced. The outputs of the Fabry-Perot cavity are characteristic of good several periods and local linearity.Quarter period output curve can be selected as linear region to measure liquid-levels accurately and continuously. The dimension of the sensitive modular was properly selected to design sensors with different ranges. The experimental results imply that accuracy of ±2 mm and minimal resolving power of 1 mm are obtained when 3.5 m water-level is measured.
