ELECTROCHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF X70 PIPELINE STEEL IN A SYNTHETIC NEAR NEUTRAL SOIL SOLUTION
|
Abstract:
The electrochemical behavior of X70 pipeline steel in a synthetic near neutral soil solution is investigated. Experimental results indicate that solute of CO2 can accelerate the corrosion rate of X70 pipeline steel in the synthetic near neutral soil solution. There are reduction reactions of H+, H2O, H2CO3 and HCO3- involved in the cathodic reaction process. And the reductions of H2CO3 and HCO3-are the dominant reactions in the cathodic reaction process, and the reduction of H+ is less important.
