Experimental results indicate that solute of CO2 can accelerate the corrosion rate of X70 pipeline steel in the synthetic near neutral soil solution. There are reduction reactions of H+, H2O, H2CO3 and HCO3- involved in the cathodic reaction process. And the reductions of H2CO3 and HCO3-are the dominant reactions in the cathodic reaction process, and the reduction of H+ is less important. %K X70 pipeline steel %K synthetic near neutral soil solution %K electrochemical behavior
