TENSILE PROPERTIES AND MICROSTRUCTURE OF AGED Ti-6Al-4V ALLOY SUBJECTED TO CYCLIC TEMPERATURE FIELD
|
Abstract:
The thermal cycling tests between 77 and 623K were performed on the aged Ti-6Al-4V alloy and the tensile properties before and after thermal cycling were evaluated. The results show that the strength of the near-peak-aged alloy decreases and that of the over-aged changes little after 1000 thermal cycles. The ductility decreases and the dislocation density or amount of deformation twins and stacking faulty in the alloy increase after thermal cycling. The dominantly activated slip systems by thermal stress in 2 are {O110}2110], and the activated twins are{1011}.
