FORMATION AND STRUCTURE OF CUPROUS ION-CONDUCTING GLASSES IN THE SYSTEM CuI-Cu_2O-WO_3
|
Abstract:
The formation of new cuprous ion-conducting glasses in the systemCuI-Cu_2O-WO_3 was investigated by twin-roller quenching technique. The major glassforming region was found in the binary oxide system Cu_2O-WO_3 and the pseudobinarysystem CuI-Cu_2WO_4,respectively.The glass transition temperature (Tg) and thecrystallization temperature (T_c) were determined by differential thermal analysis (DTA),which reveal the existence of some metastable crystalline phases. The IR and Ramanspectra indicated that the glasses mainly consist of discrete ions Cu~+,I~-,WO_4~(2-) and a cer-tain amount of W_2O_7~(2-) groups.
