Genotypic variation for some important starch quality traits in sweetpotatos

Abstract:
Sweetpotato genotypic variation for five important starch quality components,including starch content,amylose content,amylase activity, darking, and polyphenol oxidase activity were studied The relationship among these five components among 84 genotypes was also determined The results showed that all starch quality components varied obviously with genotypes, starch content has significantly positive relation with polyphenol oxidase activity Similar positive relationship was also found between darking and amylase activity
