On Working Memory in Children with Mathematics Disabilities
|
Abstract:
Working memory is defined as memory system that stores and processes a limited amount of information temporarily. Studies on working memory in children with learning disabilities indicated that, children with mathematics disabilities suffer deficits related to the visuospatial sketch and the phonological loop, and the central executive. In other words, working memory deficits are fundamental problems of children and adults with mathematics disabilities. Combining with multi-approaches, future research seems to explore why these working memory deficits result in mathematics disabilities.
