Proteomics Analysis of Cerebral Cortex from Wistar Rat
|
Abstract:
To analyze the protein expression style in Wistar rat cerebral cortex using the proteomics approach.Proteins in Wistar rat cerebral cortex were separated by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. The protein spots in two-dimensional gel electrophoresis map were digested with trypsin, and identified using a matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight mass spectrometry.108 protein spots were identified, including metabolism enzymes, skeleton proteins, heat shock proteins, antioxidant proteins, signaling proteins, proteasome related proteins, neuron and glial specific proteins, serum associated proteins,et al.The investigation presented was a first step towards a systematic analysis of the proteome of the rat brain. This approach may lay a foundation for the further investigation of pathogenic progress in rat models of neurological disorders.
