SURFACE-ENHANCED RAMAN SPECTROSCOPY OF POLY-L-LYSINE HYDRQBROMINE ON SILVER COLLOIDS
|
Abstract:
Surface-enhanced Raman (SER) spectra of poly-L-Lysine Hydrobromide (PLys-HBr) adsorbed on silver sol were obtained. The SER intensity of PLys-HBr on colloidal silver is enhanced by six orders of magnitude as compared with its ordinary Raman spectra in aqueous solution. The results indicate that NH3+ of PLys which is bounded to the silver colloid surface is the strong active group for SER. Poly-Glutamic Acid Sodium salt in silver colloid does not exhibit SERS spectra under the same conditions, which may be due to the steric hindrance of backbone and/or the weak activity of the COO- group.
