RESEARCH ON INCREASE OF MEMBRANE FLUIDTY OF PLANTMITOCHONDRIA BY ABSCISIC ACID WITH ANS
|
Abstract:
The effect of abscisic acid (ABA) on the membrane fluidity of maize mitochondria was studied by the method of fluorescence labeling of 8-anilino-1-naphthalene-sulfonic acid (ANS). The results from the experiments of ( )ABA concentrations, pH and temperature showed that ( )ABA could all decrease the fluorescence intensity, namely, ( )ABA could enhance the membrane fluidity of ANS incubating with plant mitochondria. The saturation phenomenon was appeared in the effect of ( )ABA. Which resulted in the increase of isocitrate dehydrogenase (ICDH) activity. The analogs of ABA, RCA.7a and RCA.7b, could also increase the ICDH activity. However, polyclonal antibodies against ABA-binding protein (anti-ABBP PAbs) could inhibit such effect of ( )ABA. All of the above results suggested the existence the ABA receptor site in the mitochondria membrane.
