MORPHOLOGICAL AND ELECTROPHYSIOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT OF NEONATAL RAT CORTICAL NEURON IN CULTURE
|
Abstract:
There are three different morphological types of neuron, pyramidal-shaped neuron, stellate - shaped neuron and bipolar -shaped neuron. in the culture of neonatal rat cortex observed under the inverted phase contrast microscope (NIKON 810185. Japan). The results of intracellular microelectrode recording of stellate-shaped neuron indicated that its resting membrane potential increased significantly with the increase of culture age and the input resistance decreased since the second stage of culture (7-10 days). L-glutamate (extracellular pressure injection through microelectrode) caused stellate-shaped neuron depolarized and with the increase of culture age. the response ratio of the depolarization to L-glutamate among population of stellate-shaped neuron was increased.
