DETERMINISTIC MECHANISM OF SPONTANEOUS FIRING PATTERN FROMNEURONS OF SUPRAOPTIC NUCLEUS IN THE RAT
|
Abstract:
Spontaneous firing patterns observed from neurons of supraoptic nucleus (SON) in hypothalamus are irregular. In order to research if there is a deterministic dynamical mechanism in the irregular firing, we recorded the spontaneous firing of SON on brain slices by whole cell recording with current clamp. Then the interspike interval (ISI) was studied by a new method that can identify unstable periodic orbits(UPO) from time sequence. And a family of UPO including period-1, period-2 and period-3 was identified. The results indicate that there is deterministic dynamical mechanism in the ISI of spontaneous firing from SON neurons.
